之前曾經寫過一篇關於各種名詞的解釋文章：

今天又看到 John Mark Osborne 的一個影片，不愧是資料庫專家，把 FileMaker 的重要名詞解釋地更簡短、更好！記錄如下：

• File = store tables, records and fields
• Table = stores information about a set of people, places, things or events
• Record = stores information about one person, place ,thing or event
• Field = describe one item about a person, place ,thing or event

試著解讀他的意思

• 資料庫＝存放「Tables 表單」「Records 記錄」和「Fields 欄位」
• Table 表單＝存放一群資訊，關於人、地、物、事的資訊
• Records 記錄＝存放一組資訊，關於人、地、物、事的資訊
• Fields 欄位＝描述一項人、地、物、事

所以這樣看來，是否又能解讀為，資料庫就是在記錄「人」「地」「物」「事」等資訊，差別只是「如何收納」以及收納的這些資訊的「規模大小」呢？
